Striding Edge and Swirrel Edge

November 6, 2011

The forecast was good and it was right! Sunny and not a breath of wind…We drove up to greenside mine to park the car and then made the discovery that I had left the butties on the kitchen table but as we set off to contour round to the hole in the wall we decided to drop down to Patterdale to buy some as the thought of just mini mars bars was too much – and as it turned out not very nice ones as they must have got melted on gimmer crag last month during the late heat wave. We stopped at Greystones cafe and had a coffee and cake while we waited for them to be made. We retraced our steps…..then went along striding edge up Helvellyn and down Swirrel edge to Catsyle Cam….wonderful……….L1030537L1030540L1030541
