First Hill post Lockdown with Joe

Great excitement today as Joe and I set off on our first walk together since Christmas. We chose Cross Fell as it was near to Joe’s house and not in the Lakes! The beginning of the walk was a little bit death by gates particularly as I was trying to to touch the latches. Eventually we were out on to the open fell and quickly gained ground. The sun came out and it was very warm, very quickly rain stormed were coming and going and we got caught in a particularly mean hail storm. We dried out though and the light was splendid. I forgot the spare sticks so Joe and I shared mine.We only saw 3 other parties all day which was good. I had lunch on the top and we had a nice gentle descent back to the car. A great day so lovely to be back walking with Joe. back to Joe’s for beetroot risotto and tomorrow we have breakfast with Kai and Blair
