There seemed to be a bit of a weather window definitely for Sunday and possibly for part of Monday so as I has missed the glen Roy eagles weekend due to a bad cold and been thwarted in Mallorca due to snow I was pretty keen to get out to the hills. When I arrived at the parking spot it had been enlarged for some hydro works and there were a lot of works vehicles but also quite a few walkers cars. I have set off early for me 8am and wanted to be setting off my 10 which I was. I am still quite cautious when it come to times when on my own. The book said 6 hours so I allowed more and had bike lights and head torches charged. The Forrest road and indeed the path down would have been fine in the dark. As it happened I was back at the bike for 4.30 and the van for 5pm so pleased with my effort.
It was a 3.5km ride. And then a lovely path up to the beallach, from there I went first up Meall na Teagna and then the other hill. There was very little snow and what there was was very soft. I met an interesting collection of people on route.
It was a good day but the forecast for the next day had deteriorated so I decided to head back home.
