Goatfell 875m (c)

What a day. Joe and I went over to Arran for a couple of days to meet up with Jimmy and Lynne. They were very keen to climb up Goatfell but also a wee bit apprehensive. We set off at about 10am, our route was the direct tourist path up from Broderick. It was a good choice as it still took us 91/2 hours. I couldn’t believe how busy it was but everyone was going quicker than us so after a while they started passing us coming down rather than going up! At the top we had the summit to ourselves which was wonderful. We got down and got sucked into the mountain rescue 60th anniversary by a lot of quite tipsy rescuers.

Back to the hotel for pizza. Unfortunately Jimmy had a bit of a turn/faint and ended up going to the hospital in an ambulance. Luckily all was well by morning.

A great day apart from the ambulance bit.
