It was not the most promising forecast but off we set! it was the 8th Anniversary of Rogers passing so it felt right to go up a hill. I had hoped for views over Ben Alder but it was very unlikely. As it was we (Janet and Anne Marie) didn’t get as wet as I thought we might!!

Our intentions today were a bike and hike up Mount Beatock. It was always going to be ambitious but with the added difficulty of snowy tracks we were defeated. It was ok up to the Charr Bothy where we had lunch but after that the crunchy snow got harder and we decided to save it for another day. We returned to the bothy for the rest of our lunch and headed back to the vans for tea and cake.

An enjoyable day. Lovely and sunny. Nice to be out

A night away in the vans with Dot and Anne Marie. We parked up at the bridge of Dye Forrest car park. We set off up the path through the woods, I realised as I was driving there that I had been up this hill a couple of years ago with Sue and Sam while having our now yearly family holiday. It was very windy that day but today was still but very slippy slushy snow under foot. We walked round the whole tor on the top to take a look at the climbs. Yet another place to visit again. We had a sociable evening in Anne Marie’s van. My knee is still a little troublesome.

I came back from Cumbria with a cold and wasn’t sure how fit I would be for this meet especially as my knee was still playing up. Wednesday turned out to be a pretty good day and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to climb these two Munros. I had always had them on my plan b for the meet. Earlier I had thought I might do a bike and hike but I think that was a bit ambitious. I walked with Al and another two eagles Adele and Mark. My knee was a bit sore by the end. The hills are not the most exciting but the views were great and it was nice to do a circular ridge walk..

There was snow over night and more forecast so we headed to Vercorin which is set in the trees and has a long telegraphic to get to the village and the a long bubble lift to the top. We kept doing long runs from top to bottom until the visibility and wind caused them to shut the lifts. A great day in some fresh power and getting more and more confident with my new skis
