Hot Rock Turkey: Day One

November 7, 2025

HRT ha ha

After a lovely chilled evening with Sue and Chris, Diana and. Had an early start but also a smooth journey to the airport. Just had a Pret A Manger salad pot and a gin and tonic. Pleased that I am not the driver this time. Think we land in about an hour. Looking forward to two weeks of sun rock and sea.

This may be a two swim day……

Swim one

We walked from the hotel to Pittenweem tidal pool and arrived only just in time. The sea was beginning to come over the sides and by the time we had got back up to the shelter after the swim it had disappeared. The water was not as cold as I was expecting and I actually managed to actually swim a bit. I was in for about 7 mins.

Swim Two

Cellardyke tidal pool

I was really thinking that I was not wise and really wondered at my sanity but it was ok when I got in. Then we went back for a meal and the fireworks. A nice day wit’s nice people. I like the swim group.

I decided to go up a wee hill on the way to meeting up with Janet’s swim group in Fife. Not being up many hills lately. I have done some yoga most days for the last 10 days. Legs still felt a bit stiff. Nice views. I then got to the hotel in time for some Prosecco and a chippy tea. We then had a gin in a pub. Tomorrow I may swim.

Wet wet wet.

Well we have had a right faff with the car ….mot fail due to horn so we have been on the bus and train all week. Joe had two days off the first was definitely the best weather but we had the school pumpkin walk so we set of on what should have been a showery day but was in fact raining! And claggy! But I had not been on a hill day by bus so it was an adventure. To be honest I thought we may be very miserable and tired but the end as I haven’t had many hill days for a while but it was fine which was good. We ended up in Keswick and stopped at the pub for a drink. Then booths for some grocery shopping. Once home we cooked a mushroom curry.

A great day. Tomorrow I have the car to sort out. Which I did. Horn fixed. Mot done.
