Our first day in Iceland and a lovely walk up to an incredible waterfall. A wide storey river crossing and a walk along a little plateau. Loving it well worth all the stress to get here.

This was one of the wettest days ever! and the walk back along the screes along the edge of waswater was really really hard work. We were shattered at the end. It would have been more fun on dry rock. We got back to a wet camp but luckily nothing was too wet. The next day we had the best breakfast ever. Only two more wainwrights to go. A lovely walk with Joe before we set up our camp near Cleator Moor. We decided to do some tent camping and test out the tent. The road between Keswick and Buttermere was madly busy…well it is August. A nice day.

We did pick the most wettest day to attempt this walk. It was very definitely unfinished business of Rogers after many practice walks and route planning we never actually walked the route. Part of my challenge for 2021 was also to walk a 30km walk in readiness for my attempt at more big days next year in Scotland. In view of the weather i think we did pretty good…..We were knackered at the end but very pleased with our selves. Joe and I were joined by Sam.

It was a slightly deteriating forecast but we decided to go for it! The day started lovely but then the rain came in…..we thought we would cut down from the middle of the horseshoe and walk back down the valley but as we sat to eat some food the day cleared again and so we carried on….we were so glad we did.
