It was pouring down in Aviemore but the forecast said that it would be dry at Laggan so I thought….lets give it a go! I wanted to call at the café gallery to show them my jewellery anyway so it would not be a wasted journey. As it was the partner who deals with the money side of things wasnt in so i needed to go back the next day – which i did and go an order – yay!

It was dry by then! The bike was on a good forest land rover track but there was a fair bit of down which hurt on the return journey. The views were stunning. I saw many hills that i have been up with Joe and Roger. So lots of memories. After ditching the bike i set of over rough boggy heathery ground until the start of the ridge it was steep but only for a couple of hundred meters. The a mostly pathless broad ridge was followed to the top. fantastic views. So glad I made the effort. I was a little weary on the ride back to the van but great to be able to have a brew before heading home.

The first day of joes holiday and the forecast is good. Better than good. After a bit of bother getting the pump on the tap fixed we set of from Kenny’s just after 9am. Arriving at the start of the walk at 12 noon. We intended to scramble up Allt Leacachain which we did a little way but the water was a bit high for it to be of much interest and the hills beckoned!
It was a most excellent day two great ridges and fantastic views to the hills to the north and the Fanniachs. It was longer than we thought but so worth it. Then back to the van and a lovely park up spot. Joe cooked pasta and we had the rest of the pavlova.

I was surprised how many cars were at the parking space when we arrived but we managed to tuck the car in somewhere. We were excited at the prospect of a Ghyll scramble and then a lovely ridge walk. And it did not disappoint. My heel came of my boot and I had to tie it on with the string from my sac. It did the job. A glorious sunny day and my longest walk for a while. Legs not too bad by the end. Back to joes for a pasta tea. Great day.

The forecast wasn’t great but we wanted to do something so decided on this wee graham but we didn’t just want to go up and back so extended it along the ridge and walked back along a track i rode along earlier in the year with Dot, Anne and Katie. The snow stayed off until we were almost back. Nice day and my longest for a little while.

A wee solo jaunt out to Spean bridge to climb this hill. Views from the top were splendid,, looking to Leana Mhor where Joe and I climbed the other month and the Innse’s where we were before Christmas. Nice to start to recognise hills.
