We were all getting pretty tired by now so once we got to Craggonmore we decided to leave the Spey Way and head along the road finishing up by the river with a dook. After that we had tea and ice cream at Vicky’s …….what a trip we are already planning the next one

Bike Packing Mini Epic Adventure

Our first multi day bike packing adventure with Claudia, Dot, Chris and Vicky we had originally planned to ride the Loch Ness 360 but the weather was better in the East so we headed for the coast. It was a fantastic ride along the Dava way – definitely the best way to the coast. After a pub meal in Findhorn we headed along the coast to find a spot to camp. It took us longer than expected but it was a smashing site over looking the sea. I managed to pitch my new tent – so pleased with it and the new sleeping bag. My packing is getting better!
Smugglers Way

We decided to have a ride out along the newly resurfaced smugglers trail from Glenlivet. I thought some bits had been improved and some had been wrecked. we did have a lovely downhill on a single track I had been eyeing up for ages. It didn’t disappoint although it lead us to a huge field of long grass that was an interesting ride. Lovely light.
Luibbleathann Bothy: Claudia’s Birthday
It was Claudia’s Bothy night at Luibbleathann Bothy, but i had a wedding to photograph so I went in the short way and met Claudia and Dot there. It was a beautiful evening, the heather just coming out. We were not alone there was a couple already there and we didn’t think they were best pleased to be sharing. However it was a nice night, didn’t sleep too well due the the woman’s snoring!! Dot did right she took her tent. we rode out the same way and went alone to Ralia for Cake and tea. As always we took far too much food!!

It was a lovely evening and so we couldn’t resist another after Kenny’s work trip to Suie bothy. The next day was forecast thunder storms but it would be worth it for the lovely evening. We were woked by the wind howling and as it was just getting light and the rain haddnt started and we were awake we deiced to make a run for home! we got back to the car just as the rain started with the thunder in the distance. Kenny went to work and I went back to bed. Then madly I went to meet Anne for another ride….slightly bonkers!

This was my first walk with the Strathspey Mountain Club, it was nice to get back into the hills. I was going better than I hoped after my dancing injury! so I went with Anne-Marie up Sgorr Raudh while the others split off and climbed the Corbett called Fuar Tholl. We met up with Dot for the walk back down. A good day.

Peanmeanach Day Two

The second day was just as lovely, we explored a nearby deserted village and later walked out. On the way out we passed a couple of men with shed loads of beer on the way to the bothy. we picked the right day!
Peanmeanach Bothy

A walk into Peanmeanach Bothy, we had a lovely afternoon for it. We passed a couple of day walkers on the way in but once we arrived we had the place to ourselves. We were joined by some paddlers who camped by the waters edge, it did get a bit midgy so we were glad to have the bothy to be inside. Lovely evening beautiful place.
