After a nice sandwich followed but an unfortunate incident with dog dirt we set of on a lovely ride down to killicranki and solider’s leap. Back to the van for a cuppa and to recharge my phone. And off again on ride two up to Old Blair and to the falls of Bruar and back. Two excellent rides. The first a little to much on the main road so we cut back across the river and returned the same way we set off. Finished the evening with a fish supper. Lovely sunny day….perfect….not for Mark though he spent the day with mum and dad at the hospital. Turns out she has a fractured pelvis. They are keeping her in.

Black Isle Ride

https://www.strava.com/activities/381016290First day out since we got home, it is now going to be biking time. We went to visit Gallery 48 to see our jewellery in situ. Then had a good lunch and then a good bike ride.

After getting back to Scotland we spent a couple of days with Sue and Chris. We called into the Peter Potter Gallry and dropped of some samples. Had a walk on the beach and a lovely meal in Haddington. The next day we went to see Sam’s new flat and the David Bailey Exhibition, after a bit of shopping we went back to Sue and Chris’ it was nice and sunny we sat in the garden and had pimms. On Monday we went back to the Peter Potter Gallery – got an order and took some photos in the community garden. Lovely!

Corvara: Day Eleven – Brigata Tridentina
Via Ferrata Brigata Tridentina: Grade 3B 400m
Another fantastic day. Very busy bi put we managed to find gaps to climb in. We ended up in a train of people coming back down. A great last day.
Corvara: Day Ten – still cloudy
Another bit of a rest and shopping day for presents. The lack of sun is disappointing and a bit more so today as it would have been nice to just sit about in it today. We went to Alleghe. It was ok nearly booked somewhere there but much nicer where we are. Came back and had apple strudel and bit more shopping and pasta for tea. Last day tomorrow as we are hoping for a sunnier day.
Corvara: Day Nine – Sassongher

Via Feratta: 100m Grade 1A
Today we decided to go up Sassongher. There is a via feratta which is described as more like a scramble or a protected walk with a few wires in place. We went up the cable car from Colfosco to Col Pradat. The cafe at the top was amazing with fusions and furs on the seats. At that point the sun was out and we dalyed a bit in the sun. It has been a bit lacking this week. The then traversed round to the ridge walked up to the col and the pen the final push to the top. It did cloud over but we were lucky enough to get a clear view on the top. We had a bit of rain later but we were dry when we got back to the car.

Corvara: Day Eight – The Tunnels
Yesterday which was day severn was a rest day we went shopping to Cortina and I didn’t take any photos. Today however was a bit dreick so we thought we would go to the tunnels.
Corvara: Day six. A Rest Day Not!
Today we decided we needed a bit of a rest day. The weather was actually more sunny than we anticipated. So after a bit of sit in the sun we went to la villa. It was a lot bigger than we remembered. We had a coffee and cake and a look at the umba band. The we went on a walk by the river and back through the trees. We got back into la villa in time for the shops to be open. I was very weak and bought a pair of lively lilac scarpa trainers. Nice day but as roger said it was a bit of a Kai rest day!
Corvara Day Five. Piz Boe

Via feratta: Vallon Grade 2B
Another early for us stat with breakfast at eight. We then sorted our self out and set of on foot for the cable car Boe. We were going up the cable car and then the Vallon chair lift. At the top we traversed round the basin at first no one was going our way and I was a little worried about the bridge still being there. We had a little trouble locating the star but another party came up behind us who headed straight for it. That helped! The route was fantastic a lovely scramble to the bridge and after a bit more challenging. At the top the heavens opened for a while it was much colder rain than we were expecting and then hail. We could hear thunder. The quickest route back involved an other via feratta which we were not to sure about! Luckily it was just a shower and the sun came out. We continued up to Piz Boe going over Piz Lago Gelato 3,009m on the way. At the top we went into the refuggio and had minestrone soup with sausage. Lovely. It was at this point that I realised that we had only bought single lift tickets instead of return! But did we panic no we did not. We walked back to the refuggio near the chair lift. Lost of thunder and lightening but no rain until later. We walked down to the cable car and bought no tickets for that. A good decision we thought as we would still have been walking down even after we had finished our evening meal. Of pizza and salad and a nice beer. Excellent day
Corvara Day Four: a lovely day
Via Feratta: via Delle Trincee: Grade 4B 300m

Today we decided to revisit a via feratta that we went up the first time we were here. An earlyish start and a drive to the cable car at Arabba. We caught the 9.30 car up the mountain. Another lovely sunny day. The via feratta was pretty busy but we managed to potter along at the back and completed the first two sections and just missed out the tunnels. We returned to the cable car for about three o clock returned to Arabba for coffee and ice cream. A lovely evening meal and bed. Tomorrow we are going to have another mountain day before I think there is a bit of a front coming over so may be a bit unsettled for a few days.
