Definitely the last ski of the year
It was the third last ski of the year! We thought that Roger would achieve his desire to ski in the morning and swim in Loch Morlich in the afternoon. It was a bit chilly, I didn’t get that wet!
Nevis Range…..a lot of walking!
It was a spur of the moment decision to go away in the van to Nevis Range. The forecast was a bit iffy but why not! We had a meal in Fort William and then went and parked in the ski car park…getting a bit of a good place to park. We woke up to a lot of low cloud over the mountain and a bit of drizzle. I decided to go and see if Craig the shop manager was about to show him my samples. He was in and the woman at the kiosk gave me a ticket for the gondola. So off I went and came back with a big order for cards and jewellery so thought I had bette get up there and get some more images! The cloud cleared and we had s good day skiing and I took some more shots. It was spring snow a bit soft with a bit of walking. We went and had a look at the back corries, we decided to give it a miss this time but next year! 
Powder and blue ski on Cairngorm Mountain
After dropping off my work at the Loch and Eilein gallery we headed up the mountain to a day’s skiing. Blue ski and powder snow awaited us. The white lady was the best we have ever know, and the side slop was good too, in fact it all was lovely.
Return to Glencoe
Almost a year to the day we decided to return to Glencoe in the van. We had a nice meal in the clachaig inn . The forecast for Wednesday is good so let’s hope we have a good blue bird day. The last time we were here it was decidedly dreick but today was a fantastic bluebird day.The cover was good with lots of soft deep powder on top of solid ice! Visibility was amazing. Ŵe went down Rannoch Glades, Mainbasin, Happy Valley, The Wall, and Thrombasis. We then decided probably against my better judgement to have a go down Flypaper! We did have trouble finding the top but it did look incredibly steep. In the end I think we went down the side! Definitely one for another day!

Joe and I went round Tree Zone on his last day, we have had a great week.
Road Trip Day Two
We awoke in our lovely overnight parking spot at Dunbeath harbour to some broken sunshine. Would we be lucky and see the eclipse and make use of our eclipse glasses……yes we would. After a cloudy start we saw a big patch of blue sky heading towards us and it remained for the whole eclipse. We had a fantastic view. After that we drove down to Helmsdale had a coffee and went for a walk. We got a bit wet! And saw an adder. Then we had plenty of Time so next stop was Golspie and little ferry where we had another walk. This time in sunshine. I tried out my new view ranger app.

Think I might like it. After the walk we went back to Golspie for a sit downer fish and chips. Headed home tired but a great mini road trip
Road Trip North
We decided that we would go on a road trip north to get a better view of the eclipse and possibly the northern lights as they had been quite active. The forecast was for it to be cloudy pretty much everywhere so we thought we would go. Left home mid morning stocked up at tesco and then stopped for a great lunch at the Storehouse near Invergorden. I had dropped some jewellery samples off there a couple of weeks ago so called in to see if the manager had had chance to look at them. She wasn’t about so I will have to give her a ring. Our next stop was Tain pottery where we got a couple of mugs and bowl. Further north we stopped at a lovely harbour at Dunbeath for a brew. Little where we to know that we would be back for the night later on. I thought there would be lots of good places to park the van but no. After a lot of driving we ended up back at Dunbeath. We had a nice tea and listened to the radio.

Nevis Range with Joe
Second day of Joe’s visit and we thought we would head to Nevis Range for a change. It was a lovely blue bird day with no wind at all. It was spring snow at the bottom of the runs and a mixture of scraped patches and snow on the upper runs. We had never been right up the top of the mountain before and the view of the Ben was amazing especially with the sunlight shining on the snow. We went down the goose it was a bit scraped at the top but it would be amazing when in condition. Joe did well and enjoyed himself. We had a look at the back carries and definitely need to go back. Got the name and number of the manager who does the buying for the shop.
Amazing Lady
It was not as good as we hoped but the Lady was amazing. It was quite icy and at first there was only the train and the cas T Bar open. then the ridge Poma came on but it was an interesting descent down to it via the fiacaill traverse and the side slope. Very icy!. After the M1 Poma came on we went down the white lady it was very very good. We went down 5 times! So a very good day all in all. My framed pieces have been put up on the wall.
Spring Snow at the Lecht
We had a very wild night in the car park at Glenshee, we had a hook up which meant we could keep the little fire on at night so we were toasty. The wind actually blew the large campervan next to us about 6 inches side wards! After leaving ski jewellery samples at the shop we headed to Braemar to drop off the jewellery at Wild Thistle and get a coffee and weather forecast. It looked like the Lecht might be ok so we headed there and it was! All the poma’s were running except Harrier and Buzzard. The snow couldn’t be more different. Soft spring snow that was quite uneven. We worked our way from left to right and then back again. My legs were so tired at the end!
