The weather was not brilliant and Roger was in a bit of pain we had a walk along the coast and then headed home as the rain just poured down
A night in the forest
After a walk along the coast from Hopeman we found a treasure of a parking place at in the forest at Roseisle
A very hot day…….on Sail Mhor

We must have been mad really as the day was so hot but it was a great hill to goo up even if we did select the direct route! After we came down we went to Ullapool had a fish and Chips tea at the Seaforth and then parked near a lighthouse and saw the most amazing sunset. A great final day.

West Coast Road Trip…even hotter
Today was even hotter but the midges were not so bad. we spent two nights at the campsite at Gairloch. I had another swim.

We drove round from Applecross to Torridon – home of the midges! In the morning we had to bail out and get a breakfast at Kinlochewe and an excellent breakfast it was. But the evening before we walked up to the Triple Buttress Corrie and spent a humid night in the van.

After a wedding at Eilean Donan Castle we set of on a road trip up the West Coast. Calling at potential jewellery outlets, taking photographs and going on walks and up mountains. Our first night was a midgy night on Skyle along the road to the old ferry. We went from there to Plockton and then up the blealoch na ba where we parked for the night. We had an evening walk up Sgurr a’Chaorachain.

We were staying in Ballater at the campsite and had a lovely stroll up Morrone beautiful views to the Cairngorms we did identify some of the peaks but I cant remember what they are now!

Tinto

It was very windy but a pleasant walk up to Tinto and Totherin Hill but it was a very contrived way down a very steep slope and a road walk back to the van.

After a coffee with Joe at the Costa by the river we headed home but decided to stop over at Abington. We found a nice campsite and had a nice evening walk an ice cream and a BBQ…this is the life!
