We drove round from Enerdale to Wasdale what a strange place the West Coast of the Lakes is a world away from the National Park. We decided to take a pitch at the Campsite at Netherwasdale and a lovely site it was too. We had a lovely meal out at the pub it felt like a real treat. But first we had a little walk up Yewbarrow.

This was very definitely the longest hardest day we have had for a while and i could really tell that I was out of practise too! but it was good to have a proper mountain day. We got back to the van which we parked in the wooded car park at the beginning of the track up Ennerdale. Bliss.

The weather was very hot but Roger was struggling a bit with his energy, I think the drive down to Kendal had tired him a bit. It is up and down on the way to recovery. Back in Kendal we had a chippy tea with Joe, Kai and Blair

What a difference a few days make we were back at Carn Daimh just 3 days after a first visit but this time we knew that Roger didn’t have leukaemia and we were in much better spirits. This time we approached from the East and took in the top of Cairn Ellick on the descent.
